We all know that shoe laces easily come part, specially on little children, since they are always on the move,  the problem comes when your child doesn't know yet how to tie them back and is off to school or the day care.
Here we have compiled a list of Tips to keep children's shoe laces tied that I hope you find useful and will save a few children from scrapes on their little knees.

  1. When buying shoes with laces, aim for the ones that are flat, round laces tend to untie easily than the flat ones, also check that they have the tip plastic part at the end, since ti also makes them easier to tie.
  2. This great tip was passed on to me from a dear friend and I tested it my self and works wonders, when tying your kids shoe laces, spray on some water to make them damp and then tie them up, they will stay longer in place, try not to make them too wet, just a few spritz to make them damp will do the trick.
  3. Make a double knot, I know how hard it is to try to untie those knots once your kid wants to take the shoes off, so I only use the double knot when I know there will be a lot of movement involved, like on field days, the days they have PE or music, since they will be on the move all the time and are more likely to trip if the shoelaces get untied.
  4. And this is my favorite, get a couple of Bow Biters, this were very popular on the 80's and now are coming back, my kids love them and they look super cute on the shoes, they come with the faces of their favorite characters like Elmo or Cookie Monster from Sesame Street or Barney, Thomas the tank Engine and even Bob the builder. they are super easy to put on and take off and they really do what they are suppose to do, keeping the kids shoelaces tied while they play.

We know those office baby showers are always a little awkward, specially when it involves all the department and you have people you only see passing by your desk trying to touch your belly.

A good friend sent me this video which I find hilarious of an office baby shower going bad, it is pretty funny, and I hope you enjoy it.

You Know You're a Mother When ...
  • You count the sprinkles on each kid's cupcake to make sure they're equal.
  • You have time to shave only one leg at a time.
  • You hide in the bathroom to be alone.
  • Your kid throws-up and you catch it... with your bare hand
  • Someone else's kid throws up at a party. You keep eating.
  • As you cling to the high moral ground on toy weapons; your child chews his toast into the shape of a gun.
  • You hope ketchup is a vegetable, since it's the only one your child eats.
  • You find yourself cutting your husband's sandwiches into cute shapes.

  • You donate to search for the cure charities in the hope that your child won't get that disease.
  • You hire a sitter because you haven't been out with your husband in ages, then spend half the night checking on the kids.
